When I was younger, I subconsciously followed the dogma that money and happiness were inextricably linked. Then one day, after a particularly hard shift, I began to realize that though money’s necessary and wealth goes a long way in opening doors, neither brings true happiness. Every material thing (even those bought with hard-earned money) soon gathers dust. Now, for me, treasure can be found in the simplest of pleasures. Like hiking Yosemite’s Mist Trail and coming across this scene.
