The Fisherman

Each morning, I stroll
beyond buildings to the shore
to watch fishermen
haul their catch, nets straining – full.
I go home just as laden.

Gray though the winter,
its muted sun dampened by
drizzles, defiant
sprigs glisten in the garden –
bare-limbed but for sprouts of green.

laps on sandy shores
today, tomorrow, and so

At First Unfelt

Though small the wings with
which she flew, from her dainty
beats a storm arose,
nascent gusts at first unfelt
’til Man’s bellows fanned the air.
