Bruises on Souls

Bands marching in parades show love, no?
Revelry with music and ornamentation!
Unless the honored guests need more than outward adorations.
In which case, what’s a country to do?
Simply ignore bruises on souls? People have. People do. Would YOU?
Elevate the conversation, friends. Rhetoric mends sailors least of all.
Swallow the callow sayings and find bandages in their steads.
