Jewel box lays empty.
Rather, I wander the woods,
boots begrimed by earth.
***Hats off to the ladies who work full time while raising babies and still manage to post on time. <sigh> I, on the other hand, have only myself to baby, and I still miss deadlines. Sorry. 😦

Wow, where did you take that photo? It’s absolutely beautiful! I love the sentiment in the haiku – it represents me. Boots begrimed by earth have lots of stories to relate. I’m also weeks behind in the challenges I’ve committed to without an excuse, so can relate. Perhaps as we live more in the moment than to a plan?

Hi, Safar. Thank you! This was snapped on the trail to the Pailon del Diablo (Devil’s Cauldron) in Ecuador; I was hiking back up and snapped a shot with my iPhone. 😀
I definitely am of the live-in-the-moment variety. I *try* to be a planner, but the synapses are just not made to be stringently attached to a schedule. Ce la vie, eh?

That must have been amazing. Incredible waterfall. Ecuador is going to be a destination for us in the future, so hopefully get to do the hike.
C’est vrai !

Thank you, Sukanya! Every so often, I need to remind myself of that.
