Is music really
music without tunes?
the plainsong of home
would declare it so:
from Mama’s lilt and Papa’s baritone,
to sibling squabbles and
teehee’s under covers.
A sinfonietta of five
coddled in brick and mortar.

Love the concept of ‘The plainsong of home’ and the fact music can be music ‘without tunes’. To me this poem about location and the image says so much! Enjoyed reading this.

Thanks, Lita! Btw, in wandering through dictionary.com for the meaning of “conchiglie” (hehe), I ran into sinfonietta. So, you were partly responsible for the title. 🙂

Ooh thrilled for the connection! Now I have to look up sinfonietta…! I’m guessing it is a short symphony? Beautiful word. Good choice!

No need to look it up – you got it in one. 😉
