Papa,
I didn’t understand it then,
why you insisted on perfection,
never satisfied with anything less,
why you insisted on my pursuit of a career
in which I have no interest.
But, as I sit here in my cosy home,
to which I gratefully return
each day after work,
I understand it now.
Life, with its dreams,
can only be fed
through its realities.

Our parents have us do many priceless life treasures and a lot of them we didn’t fully understand until a life event reveals itself in a more personal inspiring way. Beautiful and moving post. Thanks.

Isn’t it funny how children think they know better than their parents only to find out years later that their parents were, in fact, right about almost everything? Happy Sunday!

Nice connection piece. When we learn to understand how one effects the other our lives become more complete. Well done! 🙂

Thanks, Dorothy! Now all I have to do is actually say this to my parents. 🙂

I just had a similar conversation with my parents tonight. Thank you for helping me see things from the future perspective.

You’re welcome. I’m sure our parents, though, did the same thing to theirs. 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
